Imago lacus

The picture above was taken by a dear friend, the American poet Debra Kang Dean (please do not use it without permission). I met Debra three years before, when I went to Walden to work with his late husband Brad, a great Thoreau scholar. Once we spent hours tracking this quotation: "Some men go fishing all their lives without ever realizing it's not fish they are after." We concluded that Thoreau never wrote it, but si non è vero...

Beldurra / Miedo / Fear, by Raymond Carver

Polizia auto bat etxaurrean gelditzen ikusteari beldurra.
Gauez loak hartzekoari beldurra.
Loak ez hartzekoari beldurra.
Iraganaren matxinadari beldurra.
Oraingoaren ihesaldiari beldurra.
Goizeko ordu txikitan jotzen duen telefonoari beldurra.
Ekaitz elektrikoei beldurra.
Masailean orina duen garbitzaileari beldurra!
Kosk egiten ez omen duten zakurrei beldurra.
Antsietateari beldurra!

Lagun hilaren gorpua identifikatzeko beharrari beldurra.
Dirurik gabe geratzeari beldurra.
Diru gehiegi edukitzeari beldurra, sinesgaitza izan arren.
Profil psikologikoei beldurra.
Berandu ibiltzeari eta inor baino lehenago heltzeari beldurra.
Gutunazaletan seme-alaben idazkerari beldurra.
Haiek ni baino lehenago hiltzeari eta errudun sentitzeari beldurra.
Adinekoa naizelarik adineko amarekin bizi izateko beharrari beldurra.
Nahasteari beldurra.
Zorigaiztoko une batekin gaurko eguna amaitzeari beldurra.
Esnatu eta joan zarela konturatzeari beldurra.
Ez maitatzeari eta nahikoa ez maitatzeari beldurra.
Maite ditudanentzako hilgarria izateari beldurra.
Heriotzari beldurra.
Luzeegi bizitzeari beldurra.
Heriotzari beldurra.
